Agreement signed between the DGO and AFE to join the Betting Market Investigation Service

(Madrid).- The Spanish Footballers' Association (hereinafter, AFE) and the General Management for the Regulation of Gambling (DGOJ in its original ) have signed a collaboration agreement for the AFE to join the Global Betting Market Investigation Service.
By means of this agreement, the Association will be able to send information and alerts on irregular sports bets or suspicious bets placed in the framework of a sporting event that could be fraudulent in nature.
This Service is regulated by Law 13/2011, of 27 May, on the regulation of gambling, in its ninth additional provision, and its purpose is to prevent and fight against fraud in the sports betting market and manipulation in this type of competitions through the exchange of information.
The signing of this agreement represents an important step forward in the fight against phenomena that represent a serious threat to the values of fair play and equity inherent to sporting activity.
